Love of nursing learned from Kent Salem faculty

I graduated from the Kent Salem Campus in the accelerated BSN program in 2013. The nursing program at Kent Salem really changed my life. During my time in the nursing program I had the opportunity to attend two different cultural immersion trips. The first was to Geneva, Switzerland, and Kilimanjaro, Tanzania; and the second was to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. These trips really allowed me to grow as a person and as a nurse.

I started my nursing career as a new graduate in the med/surg float pool (for a year and a half) at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center (formerly UH Case Medical Center) where I floated to fifteen different floors. I currently work at UH in the Medical ICU where I have been for 2 years. I love what I do and I learned that love of nursing from the amazing nursing faculty at Kent Salem. The dedication and compassion each of the faulty members has is far beyond what words can describe.

I am proud of the education and experience I had at Kent. I will be returning as a student in August 2017 to pursue my graduate degree as an Adult/Gero Acute Care NP. I look forward to the next chapter in my Kent State experience.
