BSN Convocation Ceremony
Graduates, please arrive no later than 6:00 p.m. and gather in the upper balcony. Leave all personal belongings with a friend or family member, as you will go directly from the balcony to your seats.
Order of the Evening
Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. Graduates will gather in the balcony and guests will locate seating on the lower level. At 6:30 p.m., the processional will begin and the graduates will locate their seats. The program will commence with introductory remarks and greetings. Then, a guest speaker will give the Convocation Address. Following the address will be the announcement of graduates and the presentation of pins and flowers. Once all graduates have been pinned, they will recite the class pledge. The evening will conclude with closing remarks and a photo slideshow featuring photos provided by the graduates.
Registration is complimentary for the graduate and up to 8 additional guests. All graduates must register themselves and their guests online to attend. There is no need for paper tickets or to print your confirmation email. Guest seating for Convocation is general admission. ADA seating is available. Graduates can request ADA seating for guests when registering for Convocation online.
The wearing of honors cords (and all other cords) is a part of Commencement, not the Convocation ceremony. If you are eligible to receive Institutional Honors, you will receive more information about honors cords in an email from University Ceremonies.
Graduates who are receiving Institutional Honors will be recognized during the Convocation ceremony.
Graduates are encouraged to wear appropriate attire to participate in Convocation. Keep in mind you will walk up stairs and across the stage. We recommend the following:
- Women: Dress/skirt of an appropriate length, slacks, and blouse.
- Men: Slacks, shirt with a collar, shoes.
