Give to the College of Nursing
Kent State University College of Nursing has been a leader in nursing education for nearly 50 years. As one of the largest nursing institutions in the United States, we are honored by the legacy that many of our alumni, emeriti faculty, administrators, and staff have given us.
Today, we are building upon this legacy by incorporating more technology in the classroom and labs, and are conducting innovative research to improve patient outcomes. We are also offering the latest terminal degree in nursing, the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), as well as the Ph.D. In doing so, our graduates are well-prepared to become tomorrow’s leaders in healthcare.
Why Give?
As we live longer thanks to advancements in health care, we are also living with more chronic conditions requiring advanced nursing care. These new challenges in the healthcare industry will require more from our professional nurses. Your gift can play an active role in enhancing the education of our future nurses.
By giving, you may qualify for certain tax benefits. Contact your financial adviser for additional information.

A Lasting Impact
The Olga A. Mural Simulation Lab
Olga A. Mural gave the initial investment for our simulation laboratory. Her gift has prepared thousands of nursing students with the most important clinical competencies. However, we would like to do more for our students. We want to expand our simulation lab into a state-of-the-art clinical simulation center that will provide research opportunities and an innovative and interactive learning environment for our students. Your gift can help make that happen.
Scholarship Support
Students sometimes experience unexpected financial difficulties. Our scholarship funds have allowed countless students to continue their nursing education, graduate, and enter the nursing profession. You can help future nurses with your generous gift.
The Center for Nursing Research
The Center for Nursing Research has been the nucleus of research for the college since 1991. Although the center acquires most of their funding through external grants, private funding is also essential to developing innovative research that may improve patient and systematic outcomes.
One of the latest research projects being funded through an internal grant is Dr. Dana Hansen's research on the online interaction between familial caregivers and their chronically ill relatives. Giving ensures that research like this can continue.
