The Pan-African Theatre Ensemble presents The Purple Flower by Marita Bonner, directed by Dr. D. Amy-Rose Forbes-Erickson.  The play will run March 8 -10, 2018, at 8 pm in the African Community theatre, located in room 230 Oscar Ritchie Hall. with a final performance March 11, 2018, at 2 pm.

The Purple Flower was the first surrealist play written by an African American woman, and consists of two sets of characters: the "White Devils" and the "Us's".  It relays the racial tensions in America in the 1920's, but can be applied to contemporary society, and to any oppressed peoples around the world. 

Students are admitted for free with a valid KSU id.  Tickets can be purchased online or in person in the main office of Oscar Ritchie Hall, located in room 127.  Tickets are always available the night of the show in the African Community Theatre box office.
