Kent State has special role in international collaboration for research on compact stars

The research effort of Prof. Veronica Dexheimer has led to Kent State being the first International Partner Institution from the US admitted to the NewCompStar collaboration, devoted to the study of compact stars. KSU joins two Australian universities in this International Partner Institution category. NewCompStar scientists use the unique environment of compact stars as a laboratory to probe the building blocks of matter and their interactions at regimes that terrestrial laboratories cannot explore.
