The Collegiate Learning Assessment (CLA+):

What: the CLA+ stands for the Collegiate Learning Assessment – a computer-based test of your critical-thinking and written-communication skills using performance tasks and questions.

Who: full-time, non-transfer Kent campus seniors, graduating in Spring or Summer of 2017 with ACT or SAT scores on file at KSU.

How & Where: eligible students interested in participating in this research will need to go to sign up for one of the testing sessions listed above.

When: February 27 – march 24, 2017, see above for currently available session dates & times.

Why: the CLA+ helps Kent State learn more about students’ higher-order skills like critical thinking, and how much students’ undergraduate education experience may help to enhance these skills. Knowing this information helps the university improve in areas like teaching and learning. Also, the CLA+ can help you provide evidence of important skills to future employers. This assessment will not affect your grades, GPA, or class standing.
