What is the CLA+

The CLA+ stands for the Collegiate Learning Assessment – a computer-based assessment that measures critical-thinking and written-communication skills.

The CLA+ can help graduating students provide evidence of important skills to future employers.  Kent State University (KSU) uses this assessment to improve the undergraduate education experience.  This assessment will not affect your grades, GPA, or class standing.

Who should take the CLA+

To be eligible to take this assessment students must meet the following criteria:

  • Graduating seniors (graduating in spring 2018 or summer 2018)
  • Full-time (currently taking at least 12 credit hours this semester)
  • Non-transfer Kent campus (has attended KSU every semester)
  • ACT or SAT scores on file at KSU

What eligible students will receive

All eligible seniors who complete the CLA+ will get a $62 KSU Bookstore (Barnes & Noble) gift card!

That is enough to cover the cost of your graduation cap and gown at the KSU Bookstore!
