Whenever a student presents for services, the first session or two are spent assessing the student's concerns and determining the most appropriate intervention. This is usually done in the context of a diagnostic intake evaluation or consult, but sometimes additional information is required to fully understand the student's concerns and to make the most appropriate diagnosis. In these cases, psychological testing is available to supplement the clinical data and to help determine the best course of action.
Types of Psychological Testing Offered:
- Diagnostic Testing
- Personality Testing
- Intelligence Testing
- Neuropsychological Testing (selective tests associated with cognitive, memory, executive functioning)
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Diagnosing ADHD accurately requires a comprehensive evaluation that includes clinical interview, symptom evaluation, a review of previous academic records, and psychological testing (i.e., intellectual, cognitive, memory, and neuropsychological). Together, the evaluation typically takes five to six hours to complete and is spread over several weeks.
