American Heart Association Heart Walk 2015
Every year, the College of Public Health at Kent State University participates in the American Heart Association Heart Walk.
Heart disease is the nation’s number one killer of men and women, taking more lives each year than all cancers combined. In the U.S. a person dies from heart disease every 34 seconds. In addition, Stroke is the nation’s number five killer, and number one cause of long-term disability. Because of this, here at the College of Public Health, we participate in efforts such as the heart walk to show our support for research and education for health issues like heart disease and stroke. In 2015, our Kent State team had over 100 walkers and raised over $3,000!
