Jake Miller Fall 2020 workshops

Join us online Fall 2020 with Technology Integration Specialist Jake Miller to explore ed tech tools and classroom-tested strategies for designing powerful blended learning experiences for all settings - remote, face-to-face, and a blend of the two. Participants will take a deep dive into tools such as Flipgrid, EdPuzzle, Pear Deck, Loom, Screencastify, and Nearpod to learn how they can be used effectively in all settings to promote student learning, gather formative assessment data, enable differentiation, and support students’ social-emotional needs.

Participants will engage with asynchronous videos from the instructor about the strategies and tools, try out the tools on their own, and participate in occasional synchronous topical discussions. The course will be hosted in Google Classroom, giving participants an experience with this learning management system from the learner perspective.

Jake Miller is an edtech and learning enthusiast who hosts the Educational Duct Tape podcast and shares #EduGIFs and edtech tips at @JakeMillerTech and on Jake, an employee of the Orange City School District, has spent 17 years in education as a technology integration specialist and teacher of various grades of math, science, and STEM courses. Participants may choose to earn either 12.5 CE contact hours ($50 registration fee) OR earn one graduate workshop credit hour ($162 tuition fee). (Note: Participants pursuing credit are required to complete an additional assignment and may choose between the creation of a lesson plan incorporating tools & strategies from the workshop OR listening to 3 pre-recorded Educational Duct Tape Podcasts & writing a reflection paper).
