Adventure Trips

We offer unique adventure trips each semester in Ohio and around the country. All trips are designed to be beginner friendly with a focus on learning new outdoor skills. Trips can range from a few hours to multiple days/nights. Types of trips we have offered in the past include: hiking, skiing/snowboarding, kayaking, backpacking, mountain biking, rock climbing, rafting, rappelling, camping, and more.

Full Moon Float Stand Up Paddleboarding

Friday, April 9 from 7:30 - 9:30 p.m.
Saturday, April 10 from 7:30 - 9:30 p.m.

Here’s your chance to enjoy a beautiful sunset, relax in nature, and let your worries drift into the night as we paddle into the sunset on a peaceful and serene lake right down the road from Kent. Transportation is NOT provided.  You will meet us at Wingfoot Lake State Park.   
Difficulty: Level 1. No experience necessary, mild physical exertion.
Fee: Student $30, Member $30, Non-member $35

Pre-registration IS REQUIRED. A minimum of 3 participants is required to run this program.
Physical distancing and other safety measures will be implemented during the pandemic.

Hike and River Stand Up Paddleboarding

Sunday, April 11 from 2 - 4:30 p.m.
This trip will be held locally on the Cuyahoga River.  We will meet at Middlebury Bridge where we’ll hike on the Hike and Bike Trail to Tannery Park, learning about area features along the way.  From there, our experienced instructors will give a brief lesson on how to stand up paddleboard (SUP) on the river and then you will have the unique opportunity to SUP on a slow-moving current as we paddle back to Middlebury Road bridge.  A staff member will be with you for the entire trip.  Transportation is NOT provided.  You will meet us at Middlebury Road bridge.  
Difficulty: Level 1/2. No experience necessary, moderate physical exertion.
Fee: Student $25, Member $25, Non-member $30

Don't forget about Crooked River Adventures

The Adventure Center at Kent State University runs a canoe and kayak livery on the weekends from the middle of May through the beginning of October.  Come paddle with us on the Cuyahoga River from downtown Kent.  All trips are beginner-friendly with 45 minute to 2.5 hour trip options.  We also offer walk up tube rentals if you just want to float leisurely down the river.
