When will Recreational Services facilities be closed?

All Recreational Services facilities are closed until further notice which includes the Beverly J. Warren Student Recreation & Wellness Center, the KSU Ice Arena, Tri-Rec, Student Recreation Fields, Allerton Sports Complex, outdoor basketball courts, tennis courts and sand volleyball courts.  The disc golf course currently remains open.

Will I get a refund for my membership and/or parking permit?

During this closure period, we will not be charging fees for memberships, lockers, parking permits, or towel service during this period. Recreational Services will process all refunds, prorations, and adjustments to memberships, including payroll deductions, auto-debits, and other payment types. To compensate impacted members, the following arrangements have been made at this time based on your payment method. Future adjustments will be made as necessary.

Payroll Deduction Members

Recreational Services is working with the Payroll Department regarding payroll deductions for faculty/staff.

Due to standard payroll processing requirements, payroll deductions were withdrawn from paychecks on Friday, March 13.

To compensate for the mandated closure, payroll deductions will not be deducted on the following dates:

  • Bi-weekly paychecks on March 27, April 10, April 24 and May 8
  • Semi-monthly paychecks on March 31, April 15, April 30 and May 15

Auto-Debit Members

The normally scheduled auto-debit for March will not take place the week of March 16 and April 15.

All Other Membership Types

All other membership types will have the option to extend their membership, locker rental, towel service and parking permit or receive a refund during the scheduled closure.

Can I get my items or belongings out of my locker?

You are not required to remove your locker items. If you would like to retrieve your items, please email recservices@kent.edu and we will try to accommodate your request.

What happens to my rental/facility reservation?

All rentals and facility reservations during the scheduled closure are canceled. Recreational Services staff will contact you to reschedule or process a refund.

Will my program be rescheduled?

All programs and activities during the scheduled closure are canceled and will not be rescheduled. Please contact the program coordinator listed below for additional information.

Will program refunds be offered?

Program refunds will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Please contact the program coordinator listed below for additional information.
