First Year Adventure Program
Kayaking, climbing, biking and more! Ready for an adventure?
The First Year Adventure Program is designed specifically for incoming freshmen of Kent State University.
Join other freshmen on a multi-day adventure the week prior to Welcome Weekend. All activities are based out of the Student Recreation and Wellness Center and take place throughout the Kent campus and surrounding areas. Fee includes activities, lodging, meals, equipment and instruction.
This program is scheduled for Aug. 19 - 22, 2013. The week includes kayaking, indoor climbing, biking and participating in our low/high ropes courses. Participants will be able to move into their residence halls a week early! The goals of the First Year Adventure Program is to help incoming freshmen develop new friendships, familiarize themselves with campus before school begins, and kick off their college experience with a week of exciting adventures.
The cost of this event is $225 per student and space is limited. All meals, equipment, rental fees, activity fees, transportation, and instructors are included in the cost for this program.
The reservation deadline is Aug. 8, 2013, so be sure to make a reservation by calling the Student Recreation and Wellness Center at 330-672-4732 and press "0".

Program participants will have the opportunity to experience a variety of exciting adventures, including:
- Monday: Teambuilding/TLC and Outdoor Low Ropes Course
- Tuesday: Indoor High Ropes Course and Indoor Rock Climbing
- Wednesday: Campus Scavenger Hunt and Kent Hike and Bike Bicycle Ride
- Thursday: Crooked River Adventures paddling trip down the Cuyahoga River
