Hockey Prep

This program is designed to teach 5 and 6-year-olds the fundamentals of hockey skating.  Skills includes the basic hockey stance, stride, knee bend, and use of edges.  The use of a hockey helmet or multi-sport helmet for all beginner skaters and children 6 years of age and under is recommended.  Full equipment, including hockey sticks is not permitted.  Hockey skates can be rented per lesson.

Learn to Play Hockey

This program is designed for beginner hockey players, ages 5 – 11 years old.  Children must complete a Hockey Prep or Basic Learn to Skate program before enrolling into LTPH. Participants will receive one hour of instruction per week for seven weeks. Full equipment is encouraged. Rental hockey equipment is available and can be checked out per set.  Hockey skates can be rented per lesson.

KSU Adult Hockey League

This adult hockey league is for players ages 18 and older.  The league offers two seasons, fall and winter, both with guaranteed playoffs.  Games are typically played on Sundays and start times are rotated between all teams to make sure each team is scheduled early and late games.  USA Hockey player registration is required and can be obtained at https://membership.usahockey.com/.  Each team has a designated “team captain” which helps facilitates team roster composition and communication between the KSU Ice Arena and players on each team.

Stick 'n Puck

We are currently not offering Stick n Puck at this time.

​​​​​​​This program is open to all ages with the exception that all minors must be accompanied by an adult.  This ice time can be used for either individual skill development or family fun hockey.  Scrimmaging or team practice during this time is prohibited.  Private instructors are also welcomed to join.  Full equipment is not required; however, helmets must be always worn.  Puck will be provided by the KSU Ice Arena.

Drop-in Hockey

We are not currently offering Drop-in Hockey at this time.

​​​​​​​This program is designed for players to improve their game skill in a relaxed environment with no body checking allowed.  Players must be 18 years and older to play.  Full equipment is required.  This includes skates, helmets, gloves, elbow pads, and shin guards.  Players are asked to bring both light and dark color jerseys.  Pucks will be provided by the KSU Ice Arena.

Kent State Club Hockey

The KSU Ice Arena is home to the men’s KSU Club Hockey Division 1 and Division 3 teams.  Check out their website at www.kentstatehockey.org for more information about the program, advanced ticket sales, and prospective recruits.

  • Advance tickets must be purchased online for home games. 
  • Walk up admission sales will not be available. 
  • Check-in process will begin one hour prior to game time. 
  • Online ticket cancellations must be submitted 24 hours before the start of the game.
