KENT STATE UNIVERSITY REGIONAL CAMPUSES RETREAT

Ashtabula Campus

Fall Break 2020

OCTOBER 15 & 16 (Thursday & Friday)

As regional campuses, we orbit and gravitate toward a larger campus that holds us in place—at a distance and yet still firmly connected to it, and to each other. Moreover, because of the geographic locations of each regional campus, we as faculty are often isolated, alone in the void of academic space.

Mission Statement: The purpose of this retreat is to bring together and empower Regional Campus faculty in the spirit of “one university” ideology. Faculty will have the opportunity to orbit, gravitate, collide, collaborate, and/or even unite over teaching, research, service, and overall career advancement. This is an opportunity to not only become better acquainted with who and what each of us are as individual campuses, but to support and empower faculty members of each campus as a part of the collective of satellite campuses for Kent State University.

Objectives:

  • To provide resources and unite the 7 regional campuses
  • To share teaching, research, mentoring, and student involvement strategies
  • To promote greater inter-campus connectivity

Audience: All Regional Campus faculty across all disciplines and of all ranks.
