
Teresa Cusma
Biography
Teresa serves as an adjunct faculty member for Kent State Stark, where she teaches Introduction to Conflict Management. She has Advanced Mediation Practitioner and Educator status with the Association for Conflict Resolution, and has worked extensively mediating divorce and family, juvenile diversion, housing, schools, workplace, and community disputes.
Teresa founded the Community Mediation Center of Stark County, a community-based dispute resolution service, and after eight years, merged with Coleman Professional Services. The Community Mediation Center operated as an independent not-for-profit organization, offering a wide variety of mediation services and conflict skills training, which Teresa now continues through Coleman Professional Services.
She has over twenty years of experience as a facilitator, trainer, and consultant throughout the United States on the topics of mediation, conflict resolution skills development, and establishing mediation programs. Teresa serves on the faculty for the Ohio Supreme Court Dispute Resolution Section. Additionally, she recently contributed to the Ohio Supreme Court Dispute Section’s documentary that chronicles the history of dispute resolution in Ohio.
Teresa is a founding member and past president of the Ohio Community Mediation Association. Active in the Ohio Mediation Association, she is currently the executive board vice president and chairs a state-wide committee to credential mediators in Ohio. Teresa is employed by Coleman Professional Services as the Director of Mediation and Conflict Management.
