Who can use the Recreation & Wellness Center?

At this time, the facility is open to current Kent State Stark students, staff and faculty.

Will I have to wear a mask?

Yes, you will be required to wear a mask while working out, adhering to the Flashes Safe Seven principles.

What will I have access to while in the building?

You will be able to use all of the equipment you are used to in our facility, including free weights, strength and cardio machines. All are spaced 6 to 8 feet apart from other participants. There will be additional cleaning requirements requested of you, so please watch for signage. There will be no basketball at this time. Locker rooms will be available for single use; showers will not be available.

Can I take a class, like yoga or Pilates?

All classes will take place virtually; follow us on Facebook.

How will the equipment be cleaned?

All machines will be disinfected by staff members after each use. The staff will utilize a card system – “red” means the equipment needs to be cleaned and “green” will indicate the equipment is ready for use. Small equipment will be left at a cleaning station after use for cleaning by the staff. Disinfecting supplies and hand sanitizer also will be available for patrons to use.
