Collaborate Ultra Guest Link
SHARE COLLABORATE ULTRA GUEST LINK
You can invite guest users to attend a Collaborate Ultra session by enabling Guest Access and sharing the guest link with them. This allows anyone (within or outside KSU) who has the link to attend your Collaborate Ultra session with no login required. This is a useful option when inviting students from multiple courses to attend a single office hours session, or when inviting a guest speaker to class.
1. LOG INTO BLACKBOARD
Log into Blackboard Learn through learn.kent.edu or through FlashLine.
2. ENTER YOUR COURSE
Click on the name of your course to access it.
3. ACCESS COLLABORATE ULTRA
Navigate to the Collaborate Ultra tool in your course. You can access it via a course menu/content link you've created, or through the Control Panel > Course Tools > Blackboard Collaborate Ultra (the latter is instructor access only).
4. CREATE/EDIT SESSION
If you are creating a new session, click the Create Session button and name the session. If you already have a session created or you are using the Course Room, click on the existing session or Course Room link. A sidebar will pop out on the right.
5. ENABLE GUEST LINK
Select the checkbox next to Guest Access to enable. You can also set the default role for anyone joining via the guest link. Then click the Create or Save button.
6. COPY GUEST LINK
Once you have saved the session, the guest link will be displayed in the setting sidebar on the right side of the screen. You can copy it from there and share it with others as needed.
You can also copy the guest link from the session settings menu (ellipsis button to the far right of the session name or Course Room).
7. SHARE GUEST LINK
Share the guest link as desired, by pasting it into an email, posting it as a web link in a Blackboard course, etc.Updated September 2020 by Katie Baer, M.Ed., Instructional Designer
