English Immersion Program

The English Immersion Program at Kent State University at Stark offers an English language and cultural immersion experience to its participants.

International students interested in participating in cultural exchanges, developing their English language abilities and learning about U.S. culture and customs will find this program beneficial. The ESL program provides an academically rigorous curriculum, with designated classes focused on both writing and speaking.

The Kent State Stark ESL program does not require a minimum TOEFL/IELTS score and is offered at a significantly discounted tuition rate.

Downtown Cleveland is less than an hour away and offers endless possibilities for culture and entertainment.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT & SCHOLAR AMENITIES

Visiting students and scholars have access to the world-class library system, distinguished faculty, small class sizes, and individualized support as they integrate academically, socially and physically. While studying and living in North Canton, international students and scholars also have access to the services of the Office of Global Education at the Kent Campus, located about 30 miles (48 km) from the Stark Campus.

TRANSPORTATION

Staybridge Suites is conveniently located on a local transit route. Students will be provided a monthly bus pass. The Stark Area Regional Transit Authority (SARTA) provides reliable transportation to local shopping, restaurants and entertainment, in addition to long-distance routes to destinations such as Kent, Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. 


COST

Room and board rates are based on a 2 bedroom/2 bath apartment at double occupancy with a furnished kitchen and 10 meals per week provided by Staybridge Suites. The international student fee covers the cost of transportation, administrative fees, excursions and activities.
