The Kent State Stark Welcome Team is a dynamic group of student leaders dedicated to making the transition to college a smooth one.

They regularly participate in the planning and facilitation of all first year programs. Welcome Team members participate in First Step, Summer Service Projects, Smart Start Orientation, the Success Series, and help out with the DKS: FYE course. Students meet on a monthly basis to share ideas and help manage events/projects. If you see them around campus, be sure to say hello!

If you are interested in being involved with this program, contact Kristi Yerian at kyerian1@kent.edu or 330-244-3278.

I am a creative person. I am always drawing or writing and I spend most of my free time with family. I am inquisitive and love to learn new things and figure out how things function. I’m very excited to be on the Welcome Team. I believe it will provide me with the opportunity to build both skills and relationships.

Since I was young I have always known two things, I want to be a teacher and I want to attend Kent State University. I currently am enrolled in the middle childhood education program with focuses in science and social studies. I loved to be involved in school and in my community. When I am not on campus, I am at home or active participating in Fine Arts events. I enjoy music, theater, and dance, which I’ve done since I was in fifth grade. I graduated from Manchester High School in 2016 and have a younger sister who is currently attending MHS. I currently assist with the choreography for my high school’s drama department, which I have done since my sophomore year. After graduating from college, I plan to become a middle school teacher and be an active member in my school district’s theater department.

I have been attending Kent State at Stark since Fall of 2015. My hobbies include playing video games, watching movies, reading and debating comics with friends. If it is anything geeky, count me in. Aside from being a member of the Welcome Team, I work in the Student Services office. If you need help with the FASFA, I’ll be more than happy to help with questions you might have. If you need help or just need someone to nerd out with, feel free to come talk to me.

I have been attending Kent State University at Stark since Spring 2019. The reason why I joined the welcome team is because I wanted to get involved on the campus. With being a part of the welcome team, I have been able to meet a lot of great students and staff. It is also nice to be able to help ease new students into their first semester. So now a little about me! A few of my hobbies include video games, guitar, and riding motorcycle’s. I’m a pretty easy-going person, so if you ever see me around, feel free to say hi!

I started attending Kent State Stark in the fall of 2017 as a senior in high school. After graduating in 2018 and choosing to continue my education here, God blessed me with having two student jobs on campus. I first became a Campus Ambassador during the summer of 2018 and then, in November of that same year, I joined Welcome Team! I truly enjoy having the opportunity to work on campus within Student Services. I love getting to meet new and prospective students, and I sincerely hope that one of them is you!

I am an international student at Kent State Stark. I love traveling and exploring different cultures. I also have a passion for the arts like music and theatre. I love meeting new people as well because I believe we all have new things to learn from each other. On campus I am involved with USG and the Welcome Team. I also work with the Admissions Office and the Office of Global Initiatives. If you are looking to get involved on campus through a club or getting a campus job, feel free to approach me any time. You will make my day! You can also shoot me an email on epacific@kent.edu or call/text me at 330-309-9454 if you have any questions about anything at all!
