Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Symposium

SCHOLARSHIP OF TEACHING AND LEARNING (SoTL) SYMPOSIUM

Join us on Friday, November 1 for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) Symposium at Kent State University at Stark.

The scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) is a systematic investigation of teaching and learning that is deeply rooted in the researcher’s course or disciplinary context.  SoTL studies use a rigorous and scholarly approach to gathering the evidence necessary to support conclusions regarding effective teaching and learning practices.

We welcome all faculty to this event that focuses on the themes of inspiration, innovation and impact.  The symposium kicks off with a keynote address with several invited Kent State University faculty speakers who will provide a conceptual framework for this distinct form of scholarship. Oral and poster presentations will provide ample opportunity to learn from colleagues engaged in SoTL. Roundtable discussions will allow faculty to connect around conference themes, promoting discussion and brainstorming for future SoTL projects, common methodologies, or other scholarly teaching interests.
