Our focus is on service and community, Kent State Emergency Medical Service is a student-led organization that seeks to provide its members the opportunity to develop leadership and interpersonal skills, acquire vocational experience, and gain a lifelong affection for community service. This mission is accomplished by providing the Kent community with year-round emergency medical service, in a manner that is respectful of individual rights and dignity.
The American Red Cross Club at Kent State University is a wonderful way to gain volunteer experience both on campus and within the community. We play an active role in the blood drives on campus, volunteer in the community by serving at community dinners and educate members through various guest speakers on other facets of the American Red Cross such as disaster service and support for military families. This past year we helped serve meals at the Akron Community Center, taught children about fire safety at local preschools, made holiday cards to give to troops and veterans, and passed out fire safety information to fire prone neighborhoods around the Kent area.
