Alpha Phi Alpha, the first intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity established for African-American men, was founded on December 4, 1906 at Cornell University. The Epsilon Delta Chapter was chartered on January 22, 1958 at Kent State University.

Alpha Psi Lambda is a co-educational, Latino-oriented Greek letter intercollegiate fraternity. It is the first such organization for Latino college students in the United States and focuses on familia, culture, academics, service and leadership.
