About
Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972 is a Federal law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in federally funded education programs and activities.
- “No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving federal financial assistance.”
- Title IX requires colleges/universities to designate at least one employee to coordinate efforts to comply and carry out the university’s responsibilities under Title IX.
Kent State’s Interim Title IX Coordinator is Richantae Johnson, J.D.
- Anyone who believes they have experienced discrimination or harassment in violation of Kent State University policy is encouraged to contact the Title IX Coordinator at TitleIX@kent.edu, or by calling 330-672-7535.
