Kent State Environmental Society hosts the Grizzled Wizard on Re-conceptualizing Trash

Student Organization Kent State Environmental Society hosts the Grizzled Wizard on Re-conceptualizing Trash on Monday April 3 Bowman Hall 7pm room 217. Join Kent State Environmental Society as they discuss current environmental issues.

Stress Relief Rain Barrel Painting

Verder Hall Studios
Come join in some stress relief painting on rain barrels! Earth-inspired poems curated from the community by the Wick Poetry Center will be painted on rain barrels with the assistance of the Fine Arts Living Learning Community and the College of the Arts. The painted rain barrels will be on display April 17 through April 28 at the Wick Poetry Center Gardens.  

The 11th Annual Who's Your Mama Environmental Film Fest

Standing Rock Cultural Arts presents an evening of short environmental films from Kent, Ohio and around the world. Films a powered by a solar powered projector! Hosted by Standing Rock Cultural Arts and Kent State University Office of Sustainability. Admission: TBD General, TBD Students/Seniors

Earth-Inspired Poetry Rain Barrel Display
April 17 - April 28
Wick Poetry Center Gardens
Earth-inspired poems curated from the community by the Wick Poetry Center painted on rain barrels with the assistance of the Fine Arts Living Learning Community and the College of the Arts will be on display April 17 through April 28 at the Wick Poetry Center Gardens. 

Plant Pressing Techniques

Come learn how to press plants and the science behind herbaria. Hosted by Herrick Conservatory and Sustainability Club student organization.

Kent State University HR Wellness Bike Ride
April 18, 12:00 pm  –  1:00 pm
Meet at the Bike Kiosk at the Student Center
Bring your bike from home or check out a bike through the Flashfleet bike share program at one of eight locations around campus.  Chris John from the Department of Recreational Services will lead us on a 30-minute ride on the Kent campus as well as surrounding community.  They will meet starting at noon at the Flashfleet Kiosk at the Student Center and begin the ride promptly at 12:10 pm. Registration will be limited for the safety of the group. Helmets from home are strongly recommended. Register

Celebrate Earth Day with Biological Sciences

Water Quality Safari

Come practice basic water sampling techniques and explore the exciting diversity of ponds, wetlands, and rivers on and around KSU’s campus in our Water Quality Safari! Learn about aquatic ecology and water quality, have fun collecting data, and contribute to a long-term scientific database that will inform environmental and ecological work in your community.

Earth Day Celebrations at Kent State with the Child Development Center

Kent State University
Celebrate Earth Day events at Kent State University!  In the morning a children's book reading and activities for Child Development Center students will take place. Child Development Center students will participate in Earth-Day related activities created by partners and student organizations on campus. Co-hosted by the Kent State University Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; Kent State University Child Development Center; Kent State University Office of Sustainability. Earth/Arbor Day Wetland Restoration Workshop: tree planting, invasive species removal and wetland clean up; volunteers should wear clothes to get dirty and dress for the weather.  Sign up sheet will begin at Celebrate Earth Day events with Biological Sciences on Tuesday, April 18th, 11am-2pm. Coordinated by Melissa Davis and Dr. Ferenc De Szalay.
