Kent State University will holds a FREE document shredding event, called ShredMania, open to students, faculty, staff and the Kent Community. E-Cycle Drive and ShredMania is hosted by Kent State University’s Division of Human Resources, University Facilities Management and the Office of Sustainability. Documents shredded from the Kent State campus contributes to Kent State University’s standings in RecycleMania.
Shred-Mania will be open Wednesday, March 30 from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ice Arena parking lot, as part of the RecycleMania competition. The Ice Arena address is 600 Loop Rd. Kent, OH. Shred Mania allows participants to recycle unwanted paper documents using a secured, onsite document destruction service. Materials permitted at Shred-Mania include documents, drawings, photos, blueprints, coupons, tickets, checks, magazines, spiral notebooks, hanging folders, paper bags and brochures. It is not necessary to remove paper/binding clips or staples from your documents in order to have them shredded. All shredding will take place at the Ice Arena parking lot. There is a limit of 5 boxes per person for Kent community members. University material should be kept separate from personal material for tracking purposes. As a reminder, for Kent State University property, staff will need to follow university retention periods and complete a record destruction request form and have the form approved by the Office of General Council PRIOR to shredding.
