TeleProductions captures the Beauty...and the Beast

TeleProductions will be covering Friday’s dual athletic event, Beauty and The Beast. In this MAC battle, Kent State gymnastics will be facing University of Pittsburgh while Kent State wrestling will face off against Eastern Michigan.
While TeleProductions’ sports crews usually cover both teams individual events – these athletic events occur simultaneously, making the sports crew work almost as hard as the athletes competing.

“Covering two events at the same time can be a little mind bending at times,” Josh Tanner, senior media specialist, said. “During football and basketball games there are timeouts, and even a normal gymnastics meet there are around six minutes in between events. For Beauty and the Beast, it is nonstop action all night long.”

One crew will be in charge of covering both events, with five cameras being used to capture all the action. Two handheld cameras will ensure that all the action can be followed and a ‘slash angle’ camera, which is capable of shooting all of the events in the M.A.C. Center will be used as well. In addition to those, each team will have one camera dedicated to filming its competition.

"Beauty and the Beast is a chaotic and difficult event, just because there is so much going on at the same time, but that is what makes it fun. It keeps everybody on their toes and there is no down time to get bored," Tanner said.
Live video of both events will be available on KentStateSports.com courtesy of TeleProductions. Both teams are attempting to win the event for the third time in three years, so this is one event you wont want to miss.
