2022-2023 Season Selection
Your Voice Matters.
Help the School of Theatre and Dance plan for the 2021-2022 mainstage season by suggesting titles that you want to see on stage at Kent State! The Season Selection committee is currently accepting titles for consideration.
Wednesday, December 1, 2021.
Keep In Mind
It’s the school’s mission to have 50% of the works be from playwrights/creators of color.
It’s the school’s mission to increasing equity and decentralizing whiteness in our production offerings.
Please be mindful of the make-up of the student body in relation to production needs.

What Comes Next?
After the December 1, 2021 deadline, the Season Selection committee will get to work to craft the 2022-2023 season.
The Season Selection Committee
The committee is comprised of School of Theatre and Dance faculty, staff, and students:
Amy Fritsche (Fall 2021)
The Committee will review all submissions and make preliminary determinations regarding the feasibility of titles. For example, if a suggested title doesn't exist or the rights to produce the show are not available, it will be removed from consideration.
Read and Research
All remaining titles will be read and researched and the committee will consider the following (in no particular order):
- If the show is a good fit for the needs of the students of the School of Theatre and Dance, both in terms of performance and design technology.
- If the rights to produce the show can be secured for the desired dates.
- If the show can realistically be produced with the time and resources available.
Updating the List
As determinations/eliminations are made, the Submission List on the School of Theatre and Dance website will be updated. (See list below).
