Corey Atkins is a New York City-based director who has worked at theatres across the U.S., including Lincoln Center Theatre, The Acting Company/Guthrie Theatre, Cleveland Play House, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, the Hangar Theatre, and Portland Stage Company, among others. From 2011-2016 he was a member of the artistic staff of the 2015 Tony-winning Cleveland Play House. As Associate Producer he created, directed and produced multiple special events and productions, including for the company's 100th Anniversary Season, and helped redefine the company's relationship with its audiences through an extensive series of new community programs. Corey was also Editorial Associate on the award-winning anthology Nine Plays by José Cruz González: Magical Realism and Mature Themes in Theatre for Young Audiences (2009 Distinguished Book Award, AATE) and contributed an interview essay about the author for the first anthology of TYA plays by Stephen Dietz, in 2015. Corey is currently Artistic Associate with The Playwrights Realm, and an event producer and Associate with The Sol Project, a new, multi-year initiative of bringing Latinx plays to off-Broadway stages. He is a proud Drama League Directing Fellow, member of the Lincoln Center Theater Directors Lab and a member of the Translation Committee of the Latinx Theatre Commons.
