Dance@Kent Visit Day
DANCE @ KENT
Each semester, the School of Theatre and Dance hosts Dance @ Kent, a day for prospective students to learn more about Kent State's dance program. Open to high school students, Dance @ Kent participants spend the day taking college level dance classes, learning about auditioning for a college dance program, and interacting with faculty and current students. Students can expect to participate in ballet, contemporary, musical theatre dance, dance and conditioning, and dance technology courses.

Who Can Attend
Dance @ Kent is open to current high school students. Priority will be given to high school juniors and seniors.
Schedule
Your day will start outside of the Dance Studios in the Center for the Performing Arts, located at 1325 Theatre Drive, Kent, OH 44242.
8:30 am - Students Arrive - and check in outside the Dance studios- bring completed Liability Waiver posted on line.
9-9:30 am - Floor Barre Warm Up- accessible to dancers at all levels - Professor Rockland
9:30-10:30 am - Hip Hop with Samuel McIntosh- for dancers at all levels
10:40-11:20 am - MT Scene into Dance for mixed abilities with Professor Jennifer Black
11:30 am - Presentation by dancers from Firestone High School
11:40 am - Presentation by the Kent Dance Ensemble - Preprofessional Company
11:50 am - Q and A session for all visitors
12:00 pm - Students Depart
Cost
Dance @ Kent is FREE to all participants.
What to Bring
Please pack a lunch and bring dancewear and ballet and jazz shoes.
Release Form
Students attending the Dance@Kent day are required to fill out and bring a release form.
