MFA in Acting for the Returning Professional Auditions

Individuals interested in enrolling in the Master of Fine Arts in Acting for the Returning Professional program at Kent State must participate in an audition prior to admission.


Enrollment for the Class of 2020 is now closed. 

We will begin accepting applications in the Fall of 2019 for the Class of 2022 (classes beginning Fall 2020.)

Auditioning for the Class of 2022: Audition Format and Requirements

The audition consists of the presentation of:

  • Two contrasting monologues—one of which should be from Shakespeare and the other contemporary.
  • One 16+ bar song. An accompanist will be provided. Please bring music in the correct key.

Please note: Five minutes will be allotted for the audition and an interview with the Acting faculty will follow the audition.

A current resume and headshot are required to audition.
