From the composer of Wicked, Children of Eden is a universal tale of our shared humanity. Through narratives from the Book of Genesis, this timeless musical reminds us that "you cannot close your heart to what it fears and needs to know, that the hardest part of love is the letting go." With a book by John Caird and music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, "Children of Eden" is directed by professor and musical theatre program coordinator Terri Kent.
The production and design team includes choreography by assistant professor MaryAnn Black, music direction by assistant professor Jennifer Korecki, costume design by Elaine Yuen, lighting design by Cory Sprinkles, original scenic design by Ben Needham, scenic design coordination by assistant professor Tamara L. Honesty, sound design by Ben Takitch, and technical direction by associate professor Steve Pauna, Alex Barnhart, and Steve Sawicki. Tiffanie Chau-Dang is the props master, Paige Dornheggen is the assistant director, Kelly Harper is the dramaturg, and Patrick L. Johnson is the production stage manager.
"Children of Eden" is based on a concept by Charles Lisanby and has orchestrations by Bruce Coughlin and Martin Erskine.
Children of Eden is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI. www.MTIShows.com
