Fabio Polanco Performs in Cleveland Musical Theatre's World Premiere of "Jane Eyre"

Associate professor of Theatre Fabio Polanco is set to perform in Cleveland Musical Theatre's (CMT) world premiere production of "Jane Eyre," Aug. 31 – Sept. 9 at  Tri-C East's Simon Rose Mandel Theatre. Polanco, a member of Actors' Equity Association, portrays Richard Mason.

The production, a revision of the Tony Award nominated original musical which premiered on Broadway in 2000, is directed by CMT's Artistic Director, Miles J. Sternfeld, with music and lyrics by Paul Gordon and book by John Caird. The production features a cast of 10 actors and stars Broadway and Cleveland-based actors. The revised version of "Jane Eyre" is more intimate than the large and sprawling original and features new songs and material from original creators Gordon and Caird. 

The production also features School of Theatre and Dance alumnus Gregory Violand and Emeritus Professor Chuck Richie serves as dialect coach.

Polanco recently appeared in "These Mortal Hosts" at Cleveland Play House and "9 to 5" at Porthouse Theatre. Other credits include "Les Miserables" (National Tour), Brooklyn Academy of Music, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Signature Theatre Company, McCarter Theatre, O’Neill Theatre Center, Idaho Shakespeare Festival, Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Great Lakes Theatre, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Arden Theatre Company, Dobama Theatre. Film and Television: "The Lifeguard," "The Next Three Days," "The Ides of March," "Pups United," “Downward Dog”, and “Guiding Light."
