Faculty Choreograph and Perform at 18th Annual Playhouse Square Dance Showcase

Professor Kimberly Karpanty's professional dance company Travesty Dance Group will perform at Playhouse Square's Dance Showcase on Friday, September 7 at 7:00 p.m. This annual performance, now in its 18th year, showcases Northeast Ohio's finest dance companies in a vast array of dance styles. 

Travesty Dance Group will perform “the tongue of the wise,” with choreography and original score by Karpanty. The piece features performances by adjunct faculty member Tanya Mucci, Stephanie Harris, and School of Theatre and Dance director and associate professor Eric van Baars. 

The Dance Showcase, presented by Terry and Sheldon Adelman, features Northeast Ohio's finest dance companies and an array of styles including tap, ballet, contemporary, modern and African dance.

The Kent Dance Ensemble will also be featured in the Dance Showcase.
