Barbara Allegra Verlezza's "Three Sister Sonata" performed by Kent Dance Ensemble members

Associate professor of Dance Barbara Allegra Verlezza was an invited guest artist at Raritan Valley Community College's faculty dance concert this past March. Verlezza presented her original choreography entitled "Three Sister Sonata" which was performed by current Kent State dance students and Kent Dance Ensemble members Miranda Harig, Kelsey Jones, and Dana Wasielewski.  "Three Sister Sonata" originally premiered during the April 2014 Kent Dance Ensemble concert with Harig, Jones, and Wasielewski comprising the original cast of dancers. The piece was once again presented in April 2015 during the 25th Anniversary Kent Dance Ensemble concert.

During their visit, Verlezza also presented a lecture on Dance and Disability at the college and Harig, Jones and Wasielewski performed the piece in a class and participated in a post-performance discussion. Harig, Jones, Wasielewski, and Verlezza also visited New York City where the students took studio classes with Lynn Simonson expert Laurie De Vito.
