William Shakespeare’s most famous tragedy, Macbeth is a thrilling and haunting exploration of the deadly consequences of ambition and power. When three witches predict his ascension to the Scottish throne, the prophecy’s promises and his wife’s encouragement send brave general Macbeth on a path to murder. However, as Macbeth soon realizes, the crown alone will never be enough. Besieged by paranoia and wracked with guilt, Macbeth, his wife, and the entire Scottish court descend into a bloody haze of madness and death.
The production and design team includes movement direction by associate professor Jeffrey Marc Rockland, fight direction by Michael Gatto, scenic design by Terry Martin, technical direction by Chris Seifert, lighting design by Cory Sprinkles, costume design by Brittney Harrell, sound design by Stewart Blackwood, and projection design by Maxwell Jabara. M. Massey serves as production stage manager, Courtney Kennell is assistant director, Patrick Ulrich is props master, and Courtney Brown is vocal coach.
