Professor Kim Karpanty Receives Scholarship to Barcelona International Dance Exchange

Professor of Dance Kimberly Karpanty is one of four recipients of a Fidelity Scholarship to attend the Barcelona International Dance Exchange (BIDE) annual meeting in April 2019.

Karpanty, currently on faculty improvement leave, is spending the Spring 2019 semester studying, choreographing, and performing in Europe.

In addition to her attendance at BIDE, Karpanty is participating in a 3-week Depth Movement Workshop with Edivaldo Ernesto and will participate in the Pyrenees Contemporary Residential Workshop in Toulouse, France in April 2019 where she will study and perform with Lewis Wilkins and Rebecca Namguads.

Based in Barcelona since 2008, BIDE allows artists interested in the creative exchange and experimentation in contemporary dance to meet in a main event in April, as well as in the additional meetings or in the Artists Residencies. Since 2009, it takes place annually and already reached eight editions.
