School of Theatre and Dance premieres new faculty choreography in “Dance ’15: Moving Parts”

Kent, OH – Kent State University’s School of Theatre and Dance continues its 2015-2016 season with “Dance ’15: Moving Parts,” a concert of diverse premieres by dance faculty members, including a piece by new dance division coordinator Jeffrey Marc Rockland. “Dance ’15: Moving Parts” runs Dec. 4-6 in E. Turner Stump Theatre, Center for the Performing Arts, 1325 Theatre Drive, Kent, OH 44242.

For tickets call 330-672-ARTS (2787), purchase online at www.kent.edu/theatredance or in person at the Performing Arts Box Office located in the Roe Green Center lobby of the Center for the Performing Arts at 1325 Theatre Drive. The box office is open Mon. – Fri., Noon to 5 pm.  Tickets are $18 for adults, $16 for Kent State University alumni, faculty and staff, $14 for seniors (60+) and non-Kent State students age 18 and under are $10.  Tickets for full-time, Kent campus undergraduates are free of charge.  Groups of 10 or more can purchase tickets for $12 per person.  Flex pass subscriptions are also available. The box office accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, checks, and cash.

“Dance ’15: Moving Parts” highlights the versatility and diverse artistic approaches of faculty members MaryAnn Black, Kimberly Karpanty, Joan Meggitt, Jeffrey Marc Rockland, Tanya Mucci (BFA 2000) and Barbara Allegra Verlezza. Meggitt serves as the concert’s artistic director.

Over 75 dancers, designers, faculty members, crew members and staff are involved in the semester-long collaboration to bring these choreographic concepts to their fullest artistic expression. Jeffrey Marc Rockland, the School of Theatre and Dance’s new dance division coordinator and “Dance ’15: Moving Parts” artistic director Joan Meggitt will serve as Emcees and introduce the works.
