Transfer Student Application Checklist

Each year more than 1,500 students transfer to Kent State University to complete their education. Whether you have completed a semester, an associate degree or attended a number of colleges, we want you to become the next Golden Flash!

Submit Your Application

To apply for admission a Transfer applicant must submit:

  • Online Application
  • Application fee of $50
  • All College-level transcripts
  • High school transcript and ACT/SAT scores (if fewer than 12 semester hours of college-level coursework)

TRANSFER YOUR CREDITS TO KENT STATE!
  • Request an official transcript from each institution attended since high school graduation.
  • transfer credit evaluation will automatically be completed once your transcripts are submitted.

Apply For Financial Aid

All transfer applicants are automatically reviewed for scholarships when they apply to Kent State.

All students are encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at as soon as possible after Oct. 1, to determine eligibility for federal and state aid including grants and student and parent loans. Kent State's Title IV School Code is 003051

Attend TKS Orientation and Register for Classes

After admission, attend the Transfer Kent State orientation to build your schedule and get ready for the upcoming semester.

Complete the online portion of orientation prior to attending TKS by doing the TKS KickStart modules in Blackboard. Use your Flashline login information to access the modules.
