With 3 quick actions, YOU can be trained to save a life! That is why we want you to be trained to STOP THE BLEED® STOP THE BLEED® is a national awareness campaign that was started by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma (ACS COT) to bring knowledge of bleeding control in emergency situations. Severe bleeding can lead to death so controlling bleeding is paramount and the purpose of this important course.

The program started following the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT. There was a call to action to begin training the public and immediate responders until professional help arrives, to improve victim survival. This FREE course lasts no more than 90 minutes.

There is a formal presentation followed by hands-on practice with applying direct pressure, packing a wound and using a tourniquet to control bleeding and save a life. At present, there are over 3 million people trained but the goal is to have 200 million people trained in STOP THE BLEED®
