Kent State Trumbull Student Nurses Host Spring Craft Show

By Nicholas Lilly, Kent State Trumbull Student

(WARREN, OH) - Kent State University at Trumbull’s Student Nurses Association (SNA) is hosting its third annual Spring Craft Show on Saturday, March 2 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Attendees can shop more than 50 local vendors who will be showcasing a variety of handmade gifts, crafts, snacks, home-party vendors, and much more.

A portion of the proceeds will help pay for nursing students to attend this year’s National Student Nurses Association Convention held in Salt Lake City. Last year the organization raised over $2,000.

“The convention is a great way to prepare students for the National Council Licensure Examination and allow them to expand their knowledge through workshops offered throughout the four-day trip,” Brooke Francis, SNA member.

Students meet and network with faculty, nursing leaders, and nursing students from across the country. The annual convention offers seminars, workshops and nursing test reviews that enhance clinical and academic skills.

Eight Trumbull nursing students attended the convention in Nashville, TN in 2018. While there, students presented a poster presentation entitled, “Safe Sleep Initiative: Impacting Community Health.”

The craft show will be held in the Student Union, located in the Classroom/Administration Building, Kent State at Trumbull, 4314 Mahoning Ave., Warren. Admission and parking are free.
