Kent State Trumbull students secure scholarship monies

Pair secures education funding from Trumbull Memorial Health Foundation

A pair of Kent State University at Trumbull students, Alexandra Dowell and Valerie Helco, were among a group of 10 students who were awarded scholarships monies from the Trumbull Memorial Health Foundation. 

Recipients were chosen based on academics, as well as need, but all are pursuing careers in health care.

Dowell, a 2007 Warren G. Harding High School graduate, received a $1,000 scholarship toward her pursuit of bachelor’s degree in public health, while Helco, a 1989 graduate of Newton Falls High School, received a $5,000 scholarship and is a pursuing a bachelor’s degree in nursing.
