Kent State University at Trumbull is pleased to present an exhibition of paintings by Lane Cooper

The Link Gallery at Kent State University at Trumbull is pleased to present an exhibition of paintings by Lane Cooper.  “It’s a Wonderful Life” will be on display Tuesday, Sept. 6 through Thursday, Oct. 6  with an Artist’s Reception held Wednesday, Sept. 7 from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m.

Cooper’s paintings explore the ways in which fragments from our perceptual experiences and memories are pieced together to form meaning.   A meaning that is in the artist’s view, always shifting, filled with extraneous noise, and because it is fundamentally fragmentary, always just out of grasp.

She is a painter working through installation, sound, video, and on occasion, performance. Cooper has presented work in a diverse range of venues including Gallery Aferro in Newark, New Jersey; CPI in New York City; and around Cleveland at William Busta Gallery, 2731 Prospect Gallery, and most recently at Waterloo Arts. Since 2001, she has taught at the Cleveland Institute of Art where she holds the rank of Associate Professor.

The Link Gallery is open Monday through Thursday from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. and is located in the Classroom Building of the Kent State University AT Trumbull, 4314 Mahoning Ave. N.W. in Warren.
