A Message From the Dean

This 2021-2022 academic year has come to a close. Last summer, many universities were scrambling to determine if in-person or remote options would work best. Our students, faculty, and staff executed the plan, moved forward, and just weeks ago, close to 400 Kent State University at Trumbull graduates moved on with degrees and the resolve to make the world a better place. Congratulations to our Class of 2022, and thank you to friends and family who supported and cheered them along the way.

Besides enjoying our student's academic success and inspiring stories like our commencement speaker, Deanne Parr (below), our campus had many significant accomplishments this year. We completed the first year of our prison program at Trumbull Correctional Institution. Our Police Academy earned the Ohio Attorney General's STAR designation and became the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy's exclusive Advanced Training provider for Northeast Ohio. Mercy Health recently announced its intention to soon begin building a healthcare facility adjacent to our campus, providing opportunities for our students and this community.

We look forward to more possibilities for our 2022-2023 academic year. We will continue to find ways to connect with the community's businesses, organizations, and individuals to provide more opportunities for our students. If you have questions about our campus or ideas for new programming, I encourage you to reach out and let us know. I wish you all the best and enjoy this summer.

Stay safe and as always, go Flashes!
