National Student Nurse Convention in Orlando

In April 2016, Whitney Cairns, Gina York and Nicole Wilson, all junior nursing students at the Trumbull campus, participated at the National Student Nurse Association (NSNA) convention in Orlando Florida.  This is the first time the Student Nurse Association at the Trumbull campus has participated at a convention at a national level. The ladies, all active officers in SNA, participated in a multitude of activities including a disaster simulation, ran in a 5K run, enrolled in a nursing review course, and were elected as delegates to represent KSU at the convention.

Pre-nursing and present nursing students are encouraged to join one of the largest student organization on the Trumbull campus.  This active and highly regarded organization provides community services to Someplace Safe and the  Warren Family Mission and also hosts a yearly toy drive for Akron Children's Hospital in Boardman. Most recently, the SNA provided Easter baskets to 20 needy children in the Warren area and donated household goods and toiletries to Someplace Safe. If you are interested in becoming a valued member of KSU-Trumbull SNA, please contact Whitney Cairns at wfelger@kent.edu.
