Twenty Turkey Throwdown

The Tuscarawas Campus Student Government and Student Ambassadors have challenged the other regional campuses to feed 20 families for Thanksgiving.

You can help by working with a group of faculty and staff to fill a box or basket with a $20 grocery store gift card (for the turkey) and ingredients for a full Thanksgiving meal.  Harbor House prefers the grocery gift cards to be for Walmart, Giant Eagle or Marc's.

Some food suggestions are listed below.  Purchase items that are non-perishable or if they are fresh items, choose items that will last unrefrigerated at least one week.

  • Instant mashed potatoes
  • Sweet potatoes
  • Canned green beans and French's Crispy Fried Onions and Cream of Mushroom soup
  • Canned vegetables
  • Dinner rolls or dinner roll mix
  • Stuffing mix
  • Noodles
  • Jar of gravy or gravy mix
  • Brownie mix
  • Pie filling
  • Cranberry sauce
  • Canned fruit
  • Mixed nuts

Boxes are available in Student Services and can be returned to Laurie Donley by the morning of November 18. Our donations will go to Harbor House and their affiliated halfway houses.
