Alpha Delta Nu Inducts Eighteen Kent State Tuscarawas Nursing Students

Kent State University at Tuscarawas’ Gamma Sigma Chapter of the Alpha Delta Nu Nursing Honor Society inducted eighteen members this semester. Alpha Delta Nu, the world’s only honor society for associate degree nursing students, welcomed the following Kent State Tuscarawas Associate Degree in Nursing program students: Chloe Adams, Alexis Black, Amy Blake, Alyssa Capuano, Jessica Davis, Kylie Fisher, Mariah Higley, Hayley Himes Shelby Lundenberger, Jessica Marino, Victoria Miller, Katie Rohr, Taylor Seese, Ashley Shenneman, Amanda Smith, Brock Steed, Amy Troyer and Julie Tell.

“Each member of this distinguished group of nursing students has exceeded rigorous standards and has demonstrated the ideal qualities of a scholar,” said Joan Lappin, Kent State Tuscarawas Associate Degree in Nursing program director. “I am proud to celebrate their accomplishments with this prestigious honor and look forward to the many things they will achieve as they continue their nursing career.”

To qualify for induction to the honor society, students maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, earned a grade of B or higher in every nursing class and demonstrated conduct on campus and in the clinical settings that reflected integrity and professionalism.

“Nursing school is not easy, and the level of dedication they have shown in the clinical and classroom settings is exceptional,” said Dr. Mariann Harding, Kent State Tuscarawas Associate Degree in Nursing faculty and honor society advisor. “If the future of nursing lies in the hands of students like this year’s inductees, then we can be assured that the future is bright.”

Founded with the intention to promote scholarship and academic excellence in the profession of nursing, Alpha Delta Nu also encourages the pursuit of advance degrees in the profession of nursing, as well as continuing education as a life-long professional responsibility.

Kent State Tuscarawas is located at 300 University Drive NE in New Philadelphia.
