The Kent State University at Tuscarawas Engineering Technology Department held the Regional Bridge Building Contest for area high school students on February 22. Students participated from the following schools: Dover High School, Garaway High School, New Philadelphia High School, Strasburg High School, and Tuscarawas Valley High School.
Over 200 bridges were submitted with 162 students participating. The first and second place winners will be given the opportunity to compete in the International Contest to be held in Chicago, IL.
The first place award went to Nathan Walker from New Philadelphia High School and second place was awarded to Matt Pfeiffer from New Philadelphia High School.
