Kent State Tuscarawas University Band and Choir Presents Holiday Concert

The Kent State University at Tuscarawas Band and Choir will present a holiday concert entitled "Tis the Season," at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec.13, 2018, in the Performing Arts Center. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. The concert is open to the public and free of charge.

Over the last three years, the Kent State Tuscarawas Band has experienced significant growth.

"Our ensemble now includes over 50 instrumentalists who are Kent State Tuscarawas students, community members and talented high school musicians,” said James Graves, university band director. “I am excited as I watch our members cultivate their passion for music as we rehearse, practice and perform together."

While University Band is a one-credit-hour course offered for students, participation is also open to community members. For the upcoming spring 2019 semester, the band will rehearse on Thursdays beginning Jan.17, 2019, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center. For more information about joining the band, contact Mr. Graves at jgrave16@kent.edu.

The University Choir, also a one-credit-hour course, is under the direction of Shawna Hinkle and is comprised of Kent State Tuscarawas students. The choir will rehearse on Wednesdays beginning Jan. 16, 2019, from 7 to 8:15 p.m. in Founders Hall. For more information about joining the choir, contact Mrs. Hinkle at sweisger@kent.edu.

Kent State Tuscarawas is located at 330 University Dr. NE in New Philadelphia.
