Kent State Tuscarawas University Band Presents Holiday Concert

The Kent State University at Tuscarawas University Band will present a holiday concert at 7 p.m. on Dec. 7, 2017, in the Performing Arts Center. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public. With a theme of " 'Tis the Season," the performance will include a variety of chorales, marches, holiday music, Broadway tunes, and cinematic works.

 

Directed by James Graves, the University Band is a wind ensemble composed of talented Kent State Tuscarawas students, community musicians and high school students. Graves, of Dover, is an adjunct professor of music at Kent State Tuscarawas. He also is an elementary music teacher and middle school band director for Dover City Schools. Graves received a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Grove City College in 2013 and a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from the University of Mount Union in 2016. He is a member of the Dominic Greco Band and Tuscarawas Philharmonic Orchestra.

 

While University Band is a one-credit-hour course offered for students, participation is also open to community members. The band rehearses on Thursday's, beginning on Jan. 18, 2018, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center.
